Here We Are

When Jordan was eight years old, his grandpa spent several months in a hospital, located about three hours away from our home. We loaded up the family station wagon three or four times with our then six sons, telling them that we were going to Seattle. On one of our last visits before grandpa was able to return home, two-year-old Colin finally found the words to ask the burning question, "Who's Attle?? :)

For all who have hoped with us that we would See Attle this week, or more specifically, that we would be able to see Dr. Hawkins, we need to let you know that it was necessary to cancel the trip. We did, however, participate in a conference call, which included Jordan, Brianna, both Dr. Zuckerman and Dr. Hawkins, Jordan's parents, and other hospital personnel. It has been recommended, (and much thought and prayer are being given to the recommendation), that it is time to shift to a palliative approach to treatment.

You will be glad to know that the pain is under control once again. We would also like for you to know that we are in awe over Jordan's calm strength, his gentle consideration of Brianna, and all others, and the steady, unfailing courage we see in him each day. Don't discount our admiration for him because he is our beloved Jordan, for many have spoken to us of his remarkable attributes and disposition in the face of this tremendously difficult trial.

So glad to know where you are. I was thinking about your trip to See attle and was wondering if you needed a place to stay.
You have not heard much from me, but I have been lurking and reading your blog and praying and fasting for all of you.
Do you think you will be going to Seattle at some point?

Hi Deb and Iris. Our family feels the support and thanks everyone for it. There are no plans to reschedule the appointment with Dr. H. We'll be staying home.

Having many times been a position to accept a miracle in my own life, I believe in them fully, I pray and cry out for many miracles for your family to come... I know that sometimes miracles come as peace to the heart that trusts God, and I am personally humbled to see His light and understanding in your examples.

You are ALWAYS in my prayers.

Jordan, I don't know you. Just reading what your mom says makes me want to say, "I love you, brother!" You are a great husband and son!

Bonnie, we are thinking of you often at our places of online retreat. Much love to you as well!

That "attle" anecdote was cute. Oh, sweet children to keep us all going. :)--Barb(abby76)

There are many things in life I don't understand, this situation is one of them. I DO know that Gods knows what Jordan is going through and he will bless Jordan and the family through this trial. We always pray for "thy will to be done", and I feel sure this is his will. Maybe someday we will understand why. Our prayers will continue- take care, Love, Louise

Hello everyone. I just read Brianna's & Jordon's questions/answers again. Want to hear something funny? Jordan said his favorite clothes is his brown cargo pants. Well, Jim's favorite clothes was also his brown cargo pants. He wore them around for years! Eventually he cut them off just below his knees & he really wore them out. I didn't mind him wearing them @ home but when we went out that was a different story. I would make him change his pants. He was always trying to go out to eat or to the store or somewhere wearing those but I wouldn't let him. Eventually I grew to really hate that pair of pants. I tried for a very long time to get rid of them. The best place was in the trash but no, that offended him. I tried to give them away to Good Will, he took them back. I did everything I could think of to get rid of those horrible pants! He kept bringing them back out & would walk out of the bedroom wearing them. They were his FAVORITE although I could never figure out why. Well, guess what, it has been almost 6 years since he passed away, I STILL HAVE THOSE PANTS!!!!!!!!

What can I say that hasn't already been said. I admire all of your strength, and I pray for you each day. Little Erin does wonder who cousin Jordan is though, but through the prayers she has come to love him as well.

Dearest Family,
Just letting you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Your names are on the prayer roll in the Fresno Temple and while there we participated in a beautiful prayer asking for comfort and peace for each of you. We are glad you can be together at home, surrounded by family and friends.

Each message has added solace to our pierced hearts, pierced by this unexpected shaft of sorrow. Strangely, even though we cry more often than we'd choose,, we also feel a comforting assurance that our tears will be forgotten someday, and that all will be made right.
Thank you, everyone, for yur continued love and encouragement, and most of all, for your prayers!
